DWARFCRAFT DEVICES THE GREAT DESTROYER OCTAVE FUZZ DISTORTION. The Dwarfcraft Great Destroyer Distortion pedal delivers mind-bending oscillation and heavy fuzz from the murky depths.
The layout of The Great Destroyer pedal is simple: Volume knob, secondary Gain, primary Gain, and a Starve knob (which prevents power from getting to the circuit). Simple adjustments of these dials bring out massive deep fuzz. The Great Destoryer effects pedal pumps out plenty of powerful lows, with just enough articulation to achieve killer attack and definition for rhythmic chording and screaming solos. Adjust the primary and secondary Gain knobs to control an edgy guitar tone that cuts like a knife.

DWARFCRAFT DEVICES PITCH GRINDER. Oh, oh, here she comes. She’s a man eater. Actually, she’s a sequenced pitch shifter called Pitch Grinder. Our first foray into the digital realm, the PG smashes your signal down into 8 bits of mayhem, and then tosses them up and down in pitch, in intervals of your choosing. The Pitchgrinder is ready for action! We have eight tunable stages, labeled in sequence on the face of the box, with a handy bunch of LEDs to inform you of which step you are on. The shift range is from -1 octave to +2 octaves. Don’t worry about hitting the “in between” notes, the PG will only hit what most consider “real” shifting intervals. Of course, if your input is slightly out of tune, your effected signal will be as well.

DWARFCRAFT DEVICES WIZARD OF PITCH. The Wizard began as a simple idea: Cut the Pitchgrinder down to a single pitch shifter, with a mix control. What it became is something much more exciting, with brand new capabilities.The pedal’s resolution has been cranked up to 32 bits from the Grinder’s 8, but the same lo-fi glitchy sound. While the pedal is perfectly useful for traditional pitch shifting, it is much more at home creating new sounds for adventurous musicians.

DWARFCRAFT DEVICES GEARS. Gears is many things, an overdrive, sub octave generator, and resonant filter with expression pedal input. What it means for the player is a device that allows you to emulate many familiar synth sounds, as well as create brand new ones. The overdrive is a fixed sound that can be mixed from silent to LOUD. This signal is fed into a clock divider, which puts out a Square wave (or two) we can mix into the output. This audio travels on to the aggressive filter section. There's also a drive control allowing you to play nice with the filter, or just slam audio up against it. The filter also sneaks into self oscillation, for a little bit of extra noise, if you so desire.

DWARFCRAFT DEVICES ARF ATTACK RELEASE FILTER. ARF stands for Attack, Release, Filter. This is pedal comes filled with good synthy goodness! The Attack/Release envelope's range is determined by the knobs on the face, while the activation of the envelop and the duration of the sustained peak are controlled by a foot switch or CV gate signal. This means much greater control than typical "envelope follower" style filter pedals, which have a habit of triggering at the wrong times. The envelope boasts an absurd range, from "click-and-it's-over" to multi-measure swells and drops. It can also be sent out of the pedal for integration with other CV compatible gear.

DWARFCRAFT DEVICES SHIVA FUZZ OCTAVE UP. Squeel! Grind! Retch! Grooooooooove. What seems like a long time ago, I tried to make a normal fuzz. That didn’t last long. While the Shiva does do a couple familiar sounds, a nice beefy powerchordy type of fighitn’ fuzz, and a snotty octave up, I found it much more exciting to get odd sounds out of it. Shiva squeels and motorboats and has some suboctave powers too! A lot of these sounds can be switched on via the starve switch on the right.

For SOMMS, we looked back at our squarewave synths, Thumping Double Squaresnakes, Rot Yr Brain and thought, “Well, we could squash these together into a super synth of limitless evil.” SOMMS features four oscillators, one low frequency rhythmic driver, one fine tunable audio drone, and finally a pair of squeeling singers controlled via joystick. These are all mixed via a network of volume knobs. To top it off, we added a feature often requested from players, an instrument input! Finally, you can have a Dwarfcraft synth on your pedal board, complete with in and out holes.

It’s descended from Eau Claire Thunder, but tweaked a bit to tear up your bass guitar, and of course, it will work on your smaller, wimpier instruments such as guitars or baritones or Casio keyboards. The bass friendly tones are helped along by a noise gate and a “low blend” allowing you to dial in some of your undistorted low tones into your mix. Designed for the instrumentalist that specializes in low end, the Dwarfcraft Hair of the Dog brings a whole new breadth to the big string banger. No more wimpy, fuzzed out tones. DWARFCRAFT DEVICES EAU CLAIRE THUNDER FUZZ. I’m pretty much in love with this pedal, so forgive me if I seem to be up my own ass about it. Eau Claire Thunder is the result of my wish to rectify a few issues I’ve had with other fuzz boxes, notably a mid scoop. “But Old Pal Aen, some times I need to scoop the midz for my metal tonez!” When stomping on the “BYPASS” switch, you will be in familiar fuzzbox territory. Volume, Tone, and Distortion are all active, as well as the “TIMEWARP” toggle, which flips between the traditional hi-fi type sound and a more blunted, ummm, stoner-rocky type sound. “TONEBLAST” bypasses the tone control, giving you more mids and a bunch more volume. The Eau Claire Thunder fuzz pedal has the most bass of any Dwarfcraft stompbox. It works like a dream on guitars AND bass guitars too!
