Forget about the new wave of American Metal – we’ve got British Steel! New from German electronic wizards Musician Sound Design comes the British Steel ltd., a Plexi-style overdrive designed to capture the razor-sharp tones of that classic hard rock amplifier of yesteryear.
The MSD British Steel has made it possible for you to harness the ripping Plexi power used by rock gods like Hendrix, Page, EVH, Johnson, Malmsteen, Young, Priest for a minimal financial investment.
With just three controls, the British Steel is simple yet surgically precise. Volume, Tone and Drive knobs are highly interactive and will function much like a real amp, cleaning up or breaking up with less or more input signal. In fact, the British Steel will respond quite differently to various guitar/pickup combinations and active or passive electronics – very similar to the way that many famous players achieved their “trademark” tones using a Plexi and a specific guitar and preamp combination. In other words, British Steel allows you to define your vision of Plexi tone, rather than some techno geek’s idea. For further fine-tuning, the BS-1 features a high/low range switch that alters the center frequency of the Tone control for a wider operation range.
